Hello, I'm Dr. Olga M.
I am a nutritionist with a Certificate IV in Health & Wellness Coaching/Sports Nutrition Coaching, a medical researcher with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, and a life coach certified by The Coaching Institute Australia. My lifelong passion for health has guided my educational and professional pursuits. My experience in medical research, particularly focusing on diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, gave me a deep insight into the workings of pharmaceuticals, hospitals, and the public health system. A personal turning point occurred when my father suffered a toe amputation due to diabetes. I realized then that writing scientific papers was not making the tangible difference I yearned for. This realization led me to pursue life coaching, where I learned invaluable tools for identifying and reshaping the unconscious behaviors that influence our well-being. Further, embracing the critical role of nutrition, I committed myself to helping others achieve their health goals through a compassionate, holistic approach that nourishes both body and mind.
The crucial difference in my practice lies in addressing the deep, unconscious behaviors that often sabotage your health goals. How often have you embarked on a new diet only to find yourself "failing"? My approach diverges from mainstream programs that promise quick fixes and effortless results. These are typically based on unrealistic and unsustainable methods like strict calorie counting or predesigned low-calorie menus, often coupled with excessive exercise. Such approaches are not only time-consuming and difficult to follow but also fundamentally flawed because they rely on finite willpower.
Recognizing these shortcomings, I embarked on a personal journey to understand the deeper drivers behind my own unhealthy choices towards foods like chocolate or pizza. This exploration involved working with life coaches and psychologists to dissect my eating behaviors. However, even with these insights, my weight was still not at my desired level. It was this realization that led me to integrate rigorous nutritional study with effective coaching techniques, thereby uncovering the real reasons behind my self-sabotage.
The unique approach I have developed is the "missing puzzle piece" for fostering a kind relationship with food and, most importantly, with yourself.
